Emerson Thermostats Help Contractors Fill Home Technology Gap
New Emerson 80 Series thermostats offer high-end standard features and easy installation
St. Louis, October 14, 2016 – Forty percent of home thermostats are more than five years old according to a survey of homeowners conducted by Emerson (NYSE: EMR). With the rapid development of the thermostat market in the last five years, these homes are now in a technology gap that contactors can help fill with Emerson’s new 80 Series thermostat line.
“Contractors have a great opportunity to show new options to homeowners whose thermostats are behind the times and not offering the accuracy and quality display you can find in our 80s Series thermostats,” said Ed Blittschau, vice president marketing, White-Rodgers, Emerson Commercial & Residential Solutions. “While 40 percent of the homeowners Emerson surveyed had dated thermostats, nearly 15 percent of those were more than 10 years old. Think about how much this technology has improved in the past decade and what a great opening this presents for contractors,”
Emerson’s 80 Series includes a streamlined set of thermostats with standard features that cover every service call, including:
- Easy installation and set-up featuring a built-in level indicator and intuitive menus that are consistent across all models
- A modern design with large, clutter-free displays that make it easier for homeowners to use
- More flexibility for each programmable model, allowing the user to choose 7 Day, 5+1+1, 5+2 or non-programmable modes
- Options like keypad lockout, temperature limits and other professional grade features on all models
- Premium performance with certified accuracy to plus or minus one degree
The thermostat options are designed to help HVAC professionals select the right application for each customer. The standard universal model also controls up to four stages of heating and two stages of cooling. Use of this thermostat can reduce inventory with a baseline model that provides staging, auto-changeover and the most advanced features in the industry. The heat pump model is preconfigured for heat pump systems, with logic-based algorithms to control staging—even dual fuel systems are managed automatically, without an outdoor sensor. The 80 Series also includes a conventional, single-stage model that includes the same updated design and large, bright display with the advanced features every home should have.
The new 80 Series thermostats are currently available at wholesale locations nationwide. For more information visit https://www.copeland.com/en-us/products/thermostats/80-series.
